How does professor x die

The first time was not a very good death, but the other was brilliant. This took place in the future after the death of almost all the X-Men. Almost no mutants remained alive, with the main ones being Wolverine, Professor X, and Caliban.

This movie was a western at heart and focused on the end of the old guard of the mutants. After following Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart as Logan and Xavier for so many years, it was bittersweet to see both men die in this movie, and it was a fitting farewell for two of Marvel movie's most beloved characters.

Two X-Men stands above them all in the world of Marvel Comics. Those superheroes are Cyclops and Wolverine. They always stood on opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to their goals and desires. While they seemed to switch places after many years, the truth was still that Cyclops was stubborn and judgmental, and Wolverine was honorable and deadly. That made the moment that he killed Professor X in Uncanny X-Men leave a bad taste in the reader's mouths.

It was all another ruse, as a Skrull had taken over Xavier's place. While Wolverine killing Professor X seemed wrong on every level, even if it wasn't really Charles Xavier, his death at the hands of Cyclops served a much higher purpose. While Scott was partially under the control of the Phoenix Force, he was the man who murdered the man who was like a father to him for many years. This allowed Scott to start his martyr persona and led to a fantastic run of X-Men comics following the Avengers Vs.

X-Men storyline. Fox tried to do the Dark Phoenix storyline , and while neither were loyal to the comics, at least X-Men: Dark Phoenix was at least somewhat entertaining. However, X-Men: The Last Stand was a mess from start to finish and included two of the worst portrayed deaths in comic book movies.

Cyclops died off-screen, and Jean Grey disintegrated Professor X in what comes down as the worst death the X-Men founder has ever faced. Shawn S. However, this only serves to illustrate how much harder his permanent death in Logan would hit audiences. As Hugh Jackman's swan song to the role that made him a household name, Logan confronts the theme of mortality head-on.

With mutants all but extinct, Logan's body is finally succumbing to metal poisoning from his adamantium skeleton, and as he and Xavier see the end of their lives nearing, they choose to go on one final mission by guiding a group of newly-born mutants to safety, including Logan's feral "daughter" Laura, aka X Ultimately, Xavier is killed by Logan's clone, X, and his burial in an unmarked grave is simply heartbreaking in its raw emotional power.

However, this moment becomes even more heartbreaking when viewed through one very specific lens. The X-Men series has always had a notably casual approach to its own continuity , something Days of Future Past sought to streamline, with its use of time-travel to reset the timeline of events in the preceding movies.

Just where Logan fits within the X-Men continuity or if it's even a part of the mainline continuity at all is open to interpretation. However, if one chooses to place Logan within the new timeline established by Days of Future Past , the hidden tragedy of Xavier's burial scene comes into full view.

Specifically, with Wolverine being sent back through time in Days of Future Past , it is clear that he retains all of his memories of the original timeline by the movie's conclusion, including Xavier's death in The Last Stand.

For once, Xavier actually, really, honestly died. House of M House of M Vol. A decade after the Age of Apocalypse , reality was changed once again when the Scarlet Witch rewrote history and created the fan-favorite House of M reality. In this timeline, Magneto ruled over a reality where mutantkind was beloved, and humanity was feared and hated by the majority.

Once again, when traditional reality reasserted itself, Xavier was returned to life. Can nothing kill this man? Remember this from the third X-Men movie? Messiah Complex X-Men Vol. The wonders of being a main character in a beloved franchise, apparently. Ultimatum Ultimatum Vol. Unusually, this Xavier stayed dead all the way through the end of the Ultimate imprint.

Avengers vs. X-Men Avengers vs. Surely this time, Professor X is going to stay Professor Ex … right?
